You will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel in the city centre. The afternoon is at leisure. At 18.00, meet in the hotel lobby with your tour guide and your companions and depart for a drive along the beautiful Royal Route with its historical monuments and residences. At Castle Square we take a short walk through the Old Town ending at a local restaurant for a welcome dinner. Enjoy the typical Polish menu accompanied with Zubrowka (vodka).
day 2 Warsaw

This morning, you will be introduced to the highlights of Warsaw. Your guided tour will include the Old Town, rebuilt after World War II, the impressive Royal Castle, seat of the kings of Poland and where the Constitution of 03 May was proclaimed in 1791 (the second oldest constitution in the world). View some of its 300 rooms: the Canaletto Room, the Throne Room, the Knight’s Hall, the Marble room with portraits of Polish kings and the impressive Ballroom. Lunch at a restaurant then continue to the former Warsaw Ghetto. En route, view the National Opera House and Town Hall. Taste the paczek (pastry) at a famous café. Piano recital in the evening, an unforgettable musical journey of the great composer, Frederic Chopin.

day 3 Warsaw-Czestochowa-Zakopane

Depart after breakfast for Zakopane, a popular holiday resort in the valley between Gubalowka and Giewont at the base of the Tatra Mountains. En route visit of the Jasna Gora Monastery in Czestochowa with the Shrine of the Black Madonna. Lunch will be served a local restaurant. Evening arrival to picturesque Zakopane, once, a small mountain village, it has been a fashionable artist’s retreat since the turn of the 20C.

Morning guided tour of Zakopane, with its unique timber architecture known as Zakopianski style it blends with the natural landscapes and copied in other areas of Poland. A fine example is the Jaszczurowka Chapel and the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima at Krzeptowki, this town was built by the people of Zakopane in honour of Our Lady of Fatima for saving the Pope after an attempt on His life.
Admire the breathtaking views of the Tatras from the top of Gubalowka Mountain, time at leisure to admire the handcrafted souvenirs of the Highlanders (Gorale) and a lunch break (own expense). On the way to Krakow, we take a spectacular rafting trip on the Dunajec River in the Pieniny National Park. Tonight’s dinner will be served at a local restaurant in Krakow’s Old Town Market Square.

day 5 Krakow-Auschwitz-Krakow

Morning guided tour of Wawel Hill, the Royal Castle, home to three dynasties of Poland’s monarchs. Its stately halls and exquisite chambers are filled with priceless art, valuable antiques and a magnificent collection of 16C tapestries. We visit the Cathedral, where Pope John Paul II offered his first Mass as a priest in the Crypt of the Cathedral on 02/11/1946. The 18 chapels are an architectural marvel and the giant Zygmunt bell built in 1520 ranks with the world’s largest. This is where Polish kings were crowned and buried. After a short break we drive to the Old Town with its magnificent houses and palaces, view St Mary’s Basilica with the wooden altar by Wit Stwosz. Visit the quaint shops inside Cloth Hall built before1349. After lunch we drive to Auschwitz to visit the Martyrdom Museum.

day 6 Krakow-Wieliczka-Krakow

Breakfast and remainder of the morning is at your leisure. Afternoon drive to the Wieliczka Salt Mine, an unforgettable tourist attraction with underground chambers, grottoes, and chapels carved from salt. Dinner with a folkloric show will be served at a local restaurant in Wieliczka, before we drive back to Krakow.

Morning departure for Auschwitz-Birkenau and visit the Museum. On our return journey we visit Wadowice, and the house where John Paul II was born. From His bedroom window He used to see a clock with the sign time flies, eternity awaits. We lunch at a local restaurant. In the Basilica, see the special plaque where Karol Wojtyla, was baptized as well as a stone font where the Pope prayed during His first pilgrimage to Poland in 1979. You are at leisure once we return to Krakow.

day 8 Krakow-Wieliczka-Lowicz-Warsaw

Morning drive to Wieliczka to see the underground world of the oldest salt mine in Europe. Admire the salt chambers, monuments all carved in salt by many generation of Polish miners. You will be fascinated by the St Kinga Chapel with chandeliers, a masterpiece of salt work art. On the way to Wasaw, we stop in Lowicz, a typical Mazovian town famous for folk art, particularly the colorful costumes and intricate paper cut-outs. Tonight we are invited to a home-hosted dinner by a local family, whose cottage is located at the foot of the former Lowicz Castle. You will be welcomed in a typical Polish way, with bread and salt, as you enjoy your meal you can exchange ideas on day to day life, Dessert will be served in the garden.

The birthplace of Nicolaus Copernicus and considered as one of the most magnificent historic cities of Poland. Its Old Town has been included in UNESCO’s list for its impressive 13C Town Hall, superb churches and historic streets preserving Torun’s past glory. We complete the tour with a visit the Copernicus Museum.

Then to Long Market a lively street, with late Renaissance and Baroque facades, a feast for the eyes! It is here that the bourgeoisie of Gdansk lived. Next, we come upon the Main Town and the Artus Court, renowned as the most beautiful court among all of Europe’s Hanseatic cities. Just behind stands the tower of St Mary's Basilica. We return via Mariacka Street, with its gabled terraced houses and elegant boutiques. Then drive to Gdynia and enjoy a one-of-a-kind pipe organ concert at Oliwa Cathedral. After lunch we continue our drive to Sopot, a fashionable seaside resort with the oldest and longest wooden pier in Europe. Remainder of the day is at leisure or shop for Baltic arts and crafts, including amber jewelry.

On our way to Zakopane we visit the amazing Wieliczka Salt Mine, note the chapels, grottoes, lakes and magnificent cathedral, all carved from rock salt. After lunch at a local restaurant in Wieliczka, we continue to Zakopane beautifully situated at the foot of the Tatra Mountains in the valley between Gubalowka and Giewont. A very popular resort for artists since the beginning of the 20C.

En route to Wroclaw, we stop in Wadowice, the birthplace of John Paul II. After lunch at a local restaurant, we will see the house where He was born and grew up. In the Basilica of Wadowice, where Karol Wojtyla, Pope John Paul II, was baptized you can still see the special plaque that commemorates this fact as well as a stone font where the Pope prayed during His first pilgrimage to Poland in 1979. After lunch we continue to Wroclaw. Known as "Venice of the North", it is one of the oldest cities in Poland, capital of Lower Silesia, with a beautiful location along the Odra River. Reknowned as a gem of urban Gothic-Renaissance architecture.
day 8 Wroclaw-Rydzyna

After breakfast, we visit Panorama Raclawicka - a single painting arranged along the interior walls of a rotunda as one unbroken circle and viewed from an elevated central balcony. The picture represents the battle of Raclawice, (04 April 1794) between the Polish insurrectionist army and Russian troops. On to Rydzyna Castle our overnight stay and enjoy dinner in the castle’s restaurant.
day 9 Rydzyna- Poznan-Torun

Morning departure for Torun with a stop for sightseeing the historic city of Poznan. The first settlement here can be traced back to the early 9C. The first ruler of Poland, Mieszko I, who baptized the country, founded his church right here, (it is now Gothic after the restorations in the 15C). The most interesting part of the city is Old Town with its famous Renaissance Town Hall, now housing the Historic Museum. In the middle of the attic, above the clock, you can see two metal goats butting their horns 12 times every day at noon. We lunch at a restaurant, then continue to Torun.

day 12 Gdansk- Malbork-Olsztyn

After breakfast, we drive to Olsztyn. We stop at the Teutonic Knights Castle in Malbork, the largest brick building in Europe and a popular tourist attraction. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we continue to Olsztyn, set amongst lakes and forests. The most attractive part of the city is the old town, encircled by fortified walls. In the evening join in a picnic with folkloric entertainment in Gietrzwlad.
day 13 Olsztyn-Olsztynek-Lowicz-Warsaw

On our way back to Warsaw, we visit the Ethnographic Park in Olsztynek, site of the Museum of Folk Architecture, one of the oldest open-air museums in Europe. The Museum contains many interesting examples of folk architecture, including houses, barns, windmills and other traditional buildings. A particular attraction of the Ethnographical Park are the interiors of old houses, the evangelical church and Dutch windmill as well as various temporary displays representing items of traditional craftsmanship and modern folk art and handicraft from the region. The main objective of the Museum is to preserve the legacy of the past for future generations and to encourage the study of the rich cultural and spiritual values of days gone by. Afternoon stop in Lowicz, a typical Mazovian town famous for folk art: especially noteworthy are the colourful costumes and fine paper cut-outs.
Your dinner will be home-hosted dinner by a local family, whose charming cottage is located at the foot of the former Lowicz Castle. You will be welcomed in a typical Polish way, with bread and salt, and enjoy your meal served by the young married couple in their lovely house. You will have time to talk about their day to day life and have your dessert in the garden. After dinner, we continue your drive to your hotel in Warsaw.

Guided walk through the Old Town. See the Barbican, St John’s Cathedral, Warsaw’s oldest church, the Ghetto Memorial, the Monument of the Warsaw Uprising, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Panoramic drive along the Royal Route with beautiful palaces, aristocratic residences and historic churches. Visit the Royal Castle hosting the Polish Parliament, restored after WWII the 300 rooms have retained the original décor. Dinner at a restaurant, where you can make your own ‘pierogi’ (dumplings) with a variety of stuffing. An unforgettable cooking lesson and degustation. After dinner transfer to a typical beer restaurant with live music, excellent food and a variety of beers.

Guided tour of Torun then try the many varieties of ginger breads. Arrival in Gniew and at leisure until your special medieval dinner at the Gniew Castle served by the Gniew Knights in historical costumes, enjoy the taste of authentic traditional recipes.

En route visit the Teutonic Knights Fortress in Malbork, on the Nogat River, regarded as one of the oldest in Europe, with multiple defensive walls and a labyrinth of rooms, the main Chapel and the High Castle's Chapter House are the highlights of the Castle. Evening drive to Sopot a renowned seaside resorts. Stroll along the longest pier on the Baltic, 512m to the sea. Dine at a restaurant with entertainment and taste gold wasser.

Your guided tour commences from the Upland Gate, a fragment of the city's fortifications, past the 15C Prison Tower and Torture House, now host to the Amber Museum. This multi level exhibition is totally dedicated to all aspects of amber (at the end of the tour we return to view the craftsmen at work and the chance to purchase precious amber). Walk past the Main Town Hall, admire the beautiful Artus Court in front of the tower of St Mary's Basilica, on to Mariacka Street, with its gabled terraced houses and elegant boutiques leading to the Long Wharf on the Motlawa River we view the Gdansk Crane.

Transfer to Poznan via Kartuzy. The Kashubian Museum will introduce you to the intricacies of Kashubian domestic, cultural and religious traditions. A highlight is the curator’s guided tour and his performance of a Kashubian folk song complete with dramatic accompaniment. On to the village of Chmielno, visit the historic potter’s workshop of the Necel family and the Museum of Kashubian Pottery. Stop in Wdzydze Kiszewskie, an ethnographical open air museum, picturesquely located within the Wdzydze Landscape Park. Enjoy an organ recital in the 18C church, the site of organ summer concerts. Meet local artists and discover the beauty of the Kashubian ‘hidden’ folk art, such as fine root platting and colourful embroidery. The city is nominated as the Cultural Capital of Europe for 2016. Visit the Town Hall, now host to the Historic Museum, the Ostrow Tumski on the River Warta, with its gothic Cathedral, it was commenced in the 10C it has a Gold Chapel containing the sarcophagi with the ashes of the first Polish King. Then to the 15C gothic Church of the Sacred Virgin Mary, the 16C Lubranskich Academy building and the Bishop’s Palace. Dine at renowned Brovaria Restaurant where beer is produced according to medieval traditions. Brovaria Beers combine traditional decoction with the use of modern, high-quality equipment. Acombination of tradition and technology, naturally cloudy and un-pasteurised, retaining the full flavour and aroma.

You will be met on arrival at the airport and transferred to your hotel in the city centre. At 16.00 meet your guide and your companions in the hotel lobby. Orientation walk through the Old Town ending at the Jewish Cultural Association. Co-founded in 1999 by Severyn Ashkenazy, his son Adrian and five Polish and expatriate American Jews who wished to practice Judaism in a more liberal way than the only other Jewish spiritual centre in Warsaw, the Orthodox Synagogue. Beit Warszawa takes into account that a vast majority of Jews living in Poland are only starting to discover their roots. Consequently, the association’s main goal is to familiarise them with the Jewish religion, history and tradition. We drive to Beit Warsaw place for your Shabbat dinner as you are introduced to representative members of the local Jewish community.

While in Warsaw you cannot omit to visit the places that are the witnesses of the Jewish legacy in this city. Meet your local guide who will take you through the history and Jewish sites, as: Nozyk Synagogue, devastated during the occupation and renovated after the war, serves all believers to this very day. Warsaw Ghetto area, including the site of the bunker on Mila Street, the place where the chief staff of the Jewish Combat Organisation committed suicide, the monumental memorial of the Heroes of the Warsaw Ghetto located on the square which was once the site of one of the main bunkers of the Jewish Combat Organization and the Umschlagplatz.
Dinner at “Pod Samsonem” local restaurant beautifully located in the Old Town, having the charm of the Jewish old style house. You will be welcomed in traditional Polish way, with bread and salt, as the symbol of Polish hospitality. Your welcome dinner be a delightful introduction to typical Polish and Jewish cuisine. Short recital of Yiddish songs performed by the actors of the State Yiddish Theatre in Warsaw.

Morning meeting with Mr. Przemyslaw Isroel Szpilman, Director of the Okopowa Jewish Cemetery who will guide us through the largest Cemetery in Warsaw. Founded in the early 19C it has many richly ornamented gravestones, it is also the resting place for several eminent politicians, Jewish officers and enlisted men who lost their lives defending Warsaw in 1939.
Departure for Lodz, a city where three traditions crossed: Polish, Jewish and German. The first step will be in the magnificent interiors of Poznanski Palace, which was part of the industrial empire of the Poznanski family a self-sufficient district which included the owner's residence, factory, workers housing complex, church and a hospital. Now it houses the Historical Museum of Lodz and proud of the special exhibitions devoted the Artur Rubinstein and Jerry Kosinski. Dinner will be served at the Anatewka Restaurant part of the city’s Polish- Jewish history.

Morning visit to the Jewish Cemetery, the largest in Europe, an area of 39.6 hectare, where about 160 000 people are buried, amongst many meritorious persons and tombstones with high quality stone and metal workmanship. After lunch we depart for Krakow. On arrival we visit the Old Town with the Main Market Square the Cloth Hall built before 1349, but altered in the 16the century, which hosts the National Museum with a collection of Polish sculptures and paintings from the 18C-20C. Visit the Gothic Church of Our Lady with the famous wooden altar created by Wit Stwosz.
day 5 Krakow

Guided tour of Krakow, the first European city to be listed as a WHS. Krakow is the city of the great sculptor of the Gothic, Veit Stoss. We visit the Wawel Royal Castle with priceless Flemish tapestries the Wawel Cathedral, where Poland’s kings were once crowned. Continue to Kazimierz a Jewish district of Krakow which could serve as a model of Jewish life in the Diaspora.
Drive into the labyrinth of streets and alleyways named after figures from the Old Testament - Jacob, Isaac, Joseph. Visit the famous Remuh Synagogue and the museum of the Jewish life at the Old Synagogue. Short tea break f at the Cheder Café, with the genuine Israeli style coffee, brewed and served in brass fijians with cardamom, cinnamon and other oriental spices will get you closer to atmosphere of the Ashkenazi and Sephardi culture. Then view a documentary on the history of Kazimierz district.
Visit the exhibition “Krakow Under Nazi Occupation, 1939-1945” in the museum located in the former Oscar Schindler’s Factory. Key phases include the notorious Sonderaktionof November 1939 (when 183 mostly university professors were arrested) and about life during the war for Poles and Jews. day 6 Krakow-Oswiecim Birkenau-Krakow

Morning drive to Oswiecim. We will observe how the town became witness to human tragedy and how Oswiecim wants to keep the memory and live a new life. Visit the Chewra Lomdej Misznajot Synagogue and exhibition, “A new life” tour of Oszpicin. Drive to Auschwitz in Birkenau considered the largest concentration camp, established in June 1940 and liberated in January 1945. About 1.5 million people of 28 nationalities lost their lives here. In the afternoon meet the Director of the Galicia Jewish Museum who will give a short presentation on the museum which exists to commemorate the victims of the Holocaust and to celebrate the Jewish culture of Polish Galicia, it is one of the most visited Jewish museums and cultural centres.
day 7 Krakow-Wroclaw

Departure for Wroclaw, once described as “the holy blossom of Europe, a beautiful gem among cities”, situated in the middle of the Silesian Lowland, where the Odra River branches out to form 12 islands, Wroclaw is the mixture of many different religions and cultures. Afternoon walk through the heart of Wroclaw, the Market Square with the Town Hall, recognised as gem of Gothic-Renaissance architecture, the Aula Leopoldinum, one of the most magnificent chambers of the Wroclaw University. Wroclaw’s Jewish community dates back to the 12C when the city was an important trade centre along the Amber Road. Although confronted with persecution, the most notorious during the Inquisition of the 15C when John of Capistrano inspired the public torture and burning of 55 Jews on Plac Solny, Jews have steadily played a role in the development of the city. Upon arrival in Prague guided tour of the Jewish Quarter, which has endured many structural changes, the latest, a redevelopment between 1893-1913, although most of the significant buildings from previous eras were saved, a living testimony to the history of Prague Jews, spanning many centuries. See the buildings that form the best preserved complex of Jewish historical monuments in Europe. S ix synagogues remain, including the Old-New Synagogue and the Spanish Synagogue, plus the Jewish Town Hall and the Old Jewish Cemetery, the most remarkable of its kind in Europe. The Old-New Synagogue is the oldest synagogue in Central Europe, built in the late 13C richly adorned by intricate stonework and the all the interiors are original. It is now the main house of prayer for the local Jewish community. Then on to the most spectacular the, Jubilee Synagogue named on the 50th anniversary of the accession of Franz Joseph I. Dine on a river cruise boat as you admire the magnificent of the city.
