day 1 Taormina: Lifestyle, Gourmet Walking tour

Upon arrival at Catania airport you will be greeted by your driver, who will transfer you to your hotel in Taormina.
Join your local tour guide in the hotel lobby for a stroll in the historic centre of Taormina. Discover the main attractions, its soul and lifestyle, the best places for traditional pastries, ice cream, coffee, for food and handicraft shopping and anything that may interest you. Have three foodie stops: in typical trattoria tasting fish and white wines, then to a bottega tasting cheeses, salted meats, bread, olives and red wines and finally at a pastry bar for tasting of typical sicilian sweets & liquors. Evening at leisure.

day 2 Cooking Class and Lunch
After breakfast meet the local guide/chef and start your foodie experience. Visit Taormina’s Food Market, where local farmers, fishermen and butchers sell their fresh goods. Guided by your chef select the products followed by cooking traditional Sicilian dishes, such as bread, pasta, fish and vegetables. Enjoy the product of your labour accompanied by local wines.

Afternoon and evening at leisure in Taormina or explore the picturesque beaches.

day 3 Mt Etna Countryside

Depart, with your local foodie guide for an “off the beaten track” trip to Mt Etna. Driving through typical Etna villages, view the lava stone houses, orange, lemon, olive and almond groves, whilst listening to charming stories about Sicilian culture, traditions and food. Proceed up until 1000 meters above sea level and discover the breathtaking views of this volcanic land. Our first stop is an ancient family run winery, where after the guided visit of the cellars, try the wines with organic appetizers in an astonishing lava stone open air amphitheatre. Continue your gastronomic experience at picturesque farmhouse and enjoy the lunch with seasonal antipasti, homemade pasta, sicilian grilled meat and pastries. Evening at leisure in Taormina.

day 4 Taormina-Lunch in Noto-Siracusa

Morning departure for Noto. On arrival meet your local guide for an easy stroll in this UNESCO heritage town, a baroque jewel. On our walk taste the famous Modica chocolate and delicious icecream. Lunch at a family managed, rustic taverna. Continue to your charming hotel in Siracusa and enjoy this romantic town at night.

day 5 Siracusa-Ortigia Food and Wine

Meet your foodie local guide for a walking tour of Ortigia (Siracusa old town). Taste fresh fish, typical Sicilian appetizers, homemade Sicilian pastries, fragrant wines and liquors in three different food venues. Eat and drink as locals do. During the tour your guide will share with you the local history, culture, lifestyle and gastronomy of the area while passing the most important monuments and little hidden gems of the town. Tour will finish in the heart of Ortigia so after you can still enjoy the town at night.

day 6 Siracusa Winery & Lunch-Palermo

After breakfast meet your driver and start the day with visit of an ancient Winery located in the countryside structured to resemble a castle. We will be welcomed by the owner for a guided visit of the cellars and the old millstone. Enjoy a light lunch with local organic products and wine tasting in the magnificent courtyard. Appreciate the taste of wines produced in this area and recollect their difference with Etna wines. After lunch we continue our drive (approximately 2.5 hours) to colourful Palermo. Your evening is free to relax.

day 7 Palermo Streetfood-Walking Tour

Today sample the best of Sicilian streetfood on our three hour walking tour of Palermo. This food tour, led by a local expert guide, explores the fascinating culinary world of Sicily’s capital and includes visit of the famous and bustling Vucciria and Mercato del Capo outdoor markets, tasting five different Sicilian treats along the way — including ‘panelle’ (chickpea fritters) and ‘arancine’ (deep-fried rice balls). Stroll through Palermo old town and our guide will bring to life stories of the most important sites. Evening free to enjoy Palermo.

day 8 Palermo-Departure

Your tour will come to an end after breakfast and transfer to Palermo Airport
