day 01 Provence - cooking course

Independent arrival in Avignon. You will be picked up at Avignon railway station and transfer to the guest house in Tavel, an authentic provençal "mas", offering a splendid view of surrounding nature and the sound of the cicadas, in which magnificent rooms have been built with a provençal flavour. Enjoy a cooking course followed by dinner (drinks included). You will discover the scents and spirit of the Provencal home kitchen, made with fruits and vegetables ripened in abundant sunlight.

day 02 Wines in The Popes’ Country

Regular half-day minibus tour to discover the wines of the Rhône Valley with pick up in Tavel. Sightseeing tour through the vineyards and explanations about « terroir », grape varieties, vinification and aging cellars. On Mondays and

Thursdays, the tour includes stops at 2 different wineries producing red, rosé and white wines including Châteauneuf du Pape. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, the tour includes the entrance ticket to the Roman Theater in Orange (free time to visit, audioguide included) and a wine-tasting in a cellar in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Afternoon at leisure to visit the Popes’ Palace, largest gothic style palace in Europe and the Pont d’Avignon, famous for the French song (audioguide included in both monuments). Wine-tasting in a wine-shop in Avignon. Back to Tavel for dinner at the guest house.

day 03 Domaine in Tavel

Stroll around the streets of Tavel, a picturesque village, and wine-tasting in a Domaine which produces some of the greatest vintages of the Rhone Valley: Châteauneuf du Pape, Lirac, Tavel. Dinner at the guest house.

day 04 Provence-departure

At 11.00 am, transfer to Avignon railway station where your tour comes to an end.

Inclusions: 3 nights in a charming boutique hotel in Tavel, breakfast included, cooking course, followed by dinner (drinks included) on day 01, dinners with drinks included on day 2 and day 3, transfers and transportation by minibus with English or Spanish speaking driver/guide, entrance fees as per itinerary, taxes.

Exclusions: lunch, entrances & visits not mentioned above, city tax, porterage.

Note: if you arrive by train, we require you to arrive at around 4.30pm. For departure, your train should leave at around 12.30 pm
