day 01 Airport (Baku)-Baku
Arrival in Baku. Meet and transfer to hotel. Overnight.
day 02 Baku
Baku City Tour: panorama point, Old City. Shirvanshakhs museum, Maiden Tower. Ateshgah fire worshipper’s temple, Shopping Malls.
day 03 Baku-Sheki
Drive to Sheki, 350 km. En-route stop in Shemakha. Visit to Seven Tombs and Juma mosque in Shemakha. Arrival in Sheki. Visit the Royal Summer Palace of the Sheki Khans with its magnificent frescoes and stained glass as well as Sheki Museum. Overnight at a hotel in Sheki.
day 04 Sheki / Lagodekhi(border) / Tbilisi
Breakfast at a hotel. Visit traditional bazaar. Drive to the border with Georgia. Meet at the border, change guide and transportation and start exploring Georgia. Transfer to Tbilisi and have Tbilisi sightseeing tour. You will wonder in the old districts of the city which are structured like terraces, as well as take a walk in the narrow streets to enjoy colorful houses, patterned balconies and wonderful samples of modern architecture. We will start the tour from Metekhi church (13th century) facing the magnificent views over old Tbilisi. A stroll along winding little streets takes us to the main sights of the city. Afterwards take cable cars up to the ancient Narikala fortress (4th century) to enjoy the panoramic views of the whole town and then walk down to the historical domed sulphur bath area- connected with the name of our city. Overnight at a hotel in Tbilisi.
day 05 Tbilisi / Mtskheta / Gori / Uplistsikhe / Tbilisi
Today we will visit the ancient capital and religious centre of Georgia – Mtskheta (3000 years old) and see its historical places: Jvari church and impressive Svetitskhoveli Cathedral where the Robe of Christ is buried. Both Jvari and Svetitskhoveli are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Then drive to visit the town of Gori and its historical place: Uplistsikhe Cave Town (1st millennium BC). Uplistsikhe is the place where the Great Silk Road used to pass. This is an old and interesting complex with dwelling quarters, wine cellars, bakeries, a three-nave basilica church hewn out in rock and even an antic theatre. Return to Tbilisi. Overnight at a hotel in Tbilisi.
day 06 Tbilisi / Sadakhlo border / Haghat / Dilijan / Lake Sevan / Yerevan
Transfer to the Georgia-Armenia (Sadakhlo) border. Change guide and transportation. Road takes us to Lori region where we still have the chance to visit UNESCO World Heritage Site - Haghpat Monastic complex (976 AD). By its architectural value, Haghpat is one of the outstanding monasteries of Armenia, which is enlisted in "must-to-see" places. Continue our tour to the resort town of Dilijan, which is “Little Switzerland” of Armenia famous for its stunning nature landscapes. We are going to have some walk at the streets of Dilijan to explore the architectural solution from 19th c. The road will take us to Lake Sevan which is going to be one of the highlights if your trip. Climb the stairs up on the peninsula from where opens a fascinating view to the “blue-eyed” lake. Sightseeing tour on the peninsula. Lake Sevan is considered one of the largest sweet lakes in the world at an altitude of 1897 meters above sea level. Continue to the capital of Armenia – Yerevan. Check-in at the hotel and rest.
day 07 Yerevan City tour / Garni / Geghard / Yerevan
After breakfast, city tour around Yerevan the history of which goes back to 8th c. The sightseeing tour includes visit to Republic Square, Northern Avenue, Opera House with Swam Lake, Cascade Monument which is considered to be the center of art of the city as here you can find unique sculptures. In the evenings the place is becoming more charming with all its lights and people from all over the world. Departure to Geghard Monastery (13th c.) – a monastery which is hewn out from a cave. The monastery had been originally named Ayrivank meaning "the Monastery of the Cave". The name commonly used for the monastery today, Geghard, or more fully Geghardavank meaning "the Monastery of the Spear". The monastery is also included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. Continue our journey to Garni Pagan Temple from 1st c. The temple was built by Armenia King Tiridates and was dedicated to the God of Sun Mithra. Garni is the only Hellenistic temple existing nowadays in Armenia. The stairs of the temple are made huge and high which means that every human being climbing up the stairs is condescending to God of Sun. Back to Yerevan. Leisure time. Overnight at the hotel in Yerevan.
