The enchanting old fishing village of Stintino stretches over two inlets with two harbours opposite the the Island of Asinara (a renowned National Park). In close proximity you can explore Neptune’s Grotto, the late Neolithic Necropolis of Anghelu Ruju (this prehistoric site was accidentally discovered in 1903, yielding archaeological material from the Ozieri Culture 3200 to 2800 bC). Another most important Nuragic site is the Nuraghe di Palmavera. View the remains of a palace founded around the 14C bC, it is surrounded by a tight cluster of some fifty circular huts.
